Falkirk Mod Delegation Visit Pan-Celtic Festival in Donegal
The Royal National Mod was once again strongly represented at the International Pan Celtic Festival which took place this year in Donegal town with the two Traditional Medal winners from the 2007 Mod representing Scotland in the International Pan Celtic competitions.
Also visiting Donegal were representatives of Falkirk Mod 2008 including James Graham who is Mod Events Officer with Falkirk Council and a Mod Gold Medallist from Fort William Mod 2007. Representatives from the local organising committee for the Falkirk Mod also attended.
The International Pan Celtic Festival was staged alongside An Oireachtas, the national Irish language festival which also took place in Donegal town during the week and Mod representatives with support from Caledonian MacBrayne as the main commercial supporters of the Royal National Mod, EventScotland and The Royal Bank of Scotland, continued to build on the links which exist between the three international festivals.
Falkirk Mod 2008 will take place in the town from 10th to 18th October and with their attendance at international events such as the Pan Celtic Festival, Mod organisers hope to boost the numbers of international visitors attending the Falkirk Mod which will be the 104th Mod to be held and which is taking place in Falkirk for the first time.
