‘Falkirk Mod Gold' and ‘Traditional 80/-‘ have been named after the two top competitions in the international event - the ‘Gold Medal' and the ‘Traditional Gold Medal'.

The distinctively branded bottles will be on sale in advance at local farmers' markets, agricultural shows, Highland Games as well as during the event itself in October.  One thousand of each type has already been brewed and bottled.

Cllr Angus MacDonald, Chair of the local Mod Organising Committee said: ‘The ales will undoubtedly be popular with locals and visitors alike and are made from the highest quality ingredients under the excellent supervision of the Tryst Brewery.

‘The ales would make a great gift or memento of the biggest celebration of Gaelic culture and music in the world.'

Tryst Brewery's John Muir explained: ‘We are applying the same standards that applied all those years ago when Highland drovers would bring their flocks southwards to the sales that were held around Larbert - good business, warm fellowship and wonderful ale!'

We are proud to play our part in welcoming singers musicians and poets from across the world to this year's great event.'

Tryst Brewery was founded five years ago and owner, John McGarva has lived in the area all his life.  His ales are sold across the UK and recently was awarded a prestigious ‘beer of the festival' at a Campaign for Real Ale event in England.
