New Chief Executive for An Comunn Gaidhealach
 An Comunn Gàidhealach have announced the appointment of John Morrison as their new Chief Executive. Mr Morrison (48) is originally from Ness in the Isle of Lewis although he now lives with his family in Broughty Ferry. He will take up the Inverness-based post on 1st July 2008. Previously, Mr Morrison has been involved in the tourism industry as Finance and Administration Manager with Angus and Dundee Tourist Board. The President of An Comunn, John Macleod “We are delighted to have the services of John Morrison as Chief Executive. We can now look ahead to delivering the aspirations of An Comunn through the Royal National Mod and the network of Provincial Mods in conjunction with our staff, members of An Comunn and the organisations in Scotland and abroad who support these events. John has been voluntarily involved in Gaelic development activities in the south-east sector of Scotland as a local organiser and as a Gaelic adjudicator at provincial Mods. In additoon, he is well-informed about the needs of the language and how this organisation can contribute to the advancement of Gaelic through the National Plan.” Mr Morrison stated: “I am very much looking forward to being An Comunn Gaidhealach’s Chief Executive. Much needs to be done to promote opportunities for the use of our language and culture through the Mod network and amongst the membership.
