BROADCASTER and singer Mary Ann Kennedy reckons Falkirk's Mod 2008 T-shirts are "probably the coolest Mod T-shirts ever".
The garments that caught Mary Ann's eye when she was presenting the recent Ceol 'na h-Alba concert in Falkirk are part of a wide range of Mod merchandise now available.
The Mod 08 logo, a distinctive Celtic swirl in a vibrant green, can now be found on everything from teddy bears to ties and fleeces to coasters.
Top sellers include the T-shirts, of course, and the china mugs produced by local potter Barbara Davidson, who was a Mod medallist as a child and is delighted to be involved with the first ever Mod to be held in Falkirk.
More unusual souvenirs are the bottles of hand-crafted real ale: Falkirk Mod Gold Beer and Falkirk Mod Traditional Beer, produced in Falkirk district by Tryst breweries.
Look out for more lines being added, including a Hebridean liqueur and a Mod whisky, in the countdown to October. Slainte.!
